Amazon New Seller Incentives 2026: How New Brands Actually Get the $5K–$50K

Most brands launching on Amazon qualify for somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 in incentives.

Some can get over $50,000.

This isn’t theoretical. It’s money Amazon gives back in the form of fee discounts and credits you were going to spend anyway.

The problem is not qualifying.

The problem is missing deadlines or doing things in the wrong order.

First — What Actually Matters (and What Doesn’t)

There are a lot of incentives in this program. Most are small.

Only two really move the needle:

  • New Brand Bonus (referral fee rebate)
  • Advertising credit

Everything else is helpful, but secondary.

Priority Breakdown

Incentive Why It Matters
New Brand Bonus Can be worth $5K–$52.5K
Ad Credit Easy $1,000 if you’re running ads anyway
Everything else Helpful, but not worth over-focusing on

If you get those first two right, you’ve captured most of the value.

Benefit 1: New Brand Bonus (This Is the Big One)

This is where most of the money comes from.

Amazon gives you a referral fee discount based on your sales:

  • 10% back on your first $50,000
  • 5% back on the next $950,000
  • Maximum benefit = $52,500
  • Time limit = one year

In real terms:

  • $50K in sales → $5,000 back
  • $100K → $7,500 back
  • $500K → nearly $30,000 back

This is why everything in your launch should revolve around qualifying for this correctly.

The Requirement That Trips Everyone Up

You must complete Brand Registry:

  • Before listing your product
  • Or within 6 months of your first live listing

Here’s the part most brands miss:

You only get the rebate on sales that happen after Brand Registry is complete.

If you launch first and register later, that money is gone permanently.

You Need the Professional Plan

This is required for basically everything in the program.

Trademark Timing (Why This Comes First)

To get Brand Registry, you need a trademark (pending is fine).

Realistically, you’re looking at:

  • File trademark
  • Wait for serial number (a few weeks)
  • Apply for Brand Registry
  • Wait ~2 weeks for approval

In most cases, that’s 4–6+ weeks minimum.

This is why you don’t wait until launch to start it.

Benefit 2: $1,000 Ad Credit (Easy to Miss)

Amazon gives ad credits based on how much you spend in the first 90 days.

Ad Credit Tiers

Spend (First 90 Days) Credit
$50–$199 $50
$200–$999 $200
$1,000+ $1,000

The Part Most Brands Don’t Plan For

There are two deadlines:

  • Spend within 90 days
  • Use the credit within 30 days after it appears

That second one is where people lose money.

If you normally spend less than $1,000/month, you may need to temporarily increase spend to use the full credit.

Benefit 3: Vine Credit ($200)

Amazon gives you $200 toward Vine enrollment.

You still pay for:

  • Product cost
  • FBA fees

The One Vine Mistake to Avoid

If you enroll within the first 5 days of eligibility, the credit may not apply.

Always check that the enrollment fee shows $0 before proceeding.

FBA Credits (Simple, Don’t Overthink)

If you’re using FBA, you’ll likely get these automatically.

You’ll receive:

  • $100 shipping credit (first shipment)
  • $400 placement fee credit

Just send your first shipment within 90 days and these apply automatically.

FBA New Selection (Good, But Not the Main Event)

This program gives you:

  • Free storage (first 100 units)
  • Free liquidations
  • Free returns processing
  • A small rebate on early units

Important: Even existing sellers can use this if the product is new to FBA.

The Only Deadlines That Actually Matter

Action Deadline
Brand Registry Before launch or within 6 months
Ad spend Within 90 days
Use ad credits Within 30 days
First FBA shipment Within 90 days
Vine enrollment Within 90 days (avoid first 5 days)

What I’d Do If I Were Launching a Brand

  1. Start trademark immediately
  2. Get Brand Registry done early
  3. Launch product
  4. Start ads right away
  5. Send FBA shipment quickly
  6. Use Vine once listing is ready
  7. Check the incentives dashboard monthly

Final Thoughts

Amazon is essentially subsidizing your launch.

But only if you:

  • Do things in the right order
  • Hit the deadlines
  • Actually use the credits
