Amazon Listing Image Design Portfolio

From clean main photos to conversion-focused lifestyle and infographic sets, here's what we build for brands.

What You'll Get

Your images are the most important part of your listing for customers. We design images that help customers buy.

*Your needs may vary. We'll discuss and customize what we create for you based on your available photography assets, budget, number of products, and other factors. With smaller budgets we can choose to leave out some of the nonessential "bells & whistles" that are only more effective at higher sales volumes.

📷 Main Images

For the first image, Amazon requires a plain white background. We can make those images, however, even with the limitations on the first images, we have ways to add more information and grab customers attention.

🆚 Comparison Images

Side-by-side benefits vs. competitors/other SKUs to reduce decision friction.

🧾 Infographic Callouts

Feature overlays that explain specs, ingredients, or what’s in the box—designed for mobile legibility.

🏞️ Lifestyle & Context Shots

Real-world scenes that show scale, use-case, and benefits at a glance. We'll use the photography you have but add text icons, and other aspects to show customers value.

🧩 Variant & Bundle Visuals

Clear Matrices for sizes, flavors, colors, or multipacks to cut returns.

📱 Mobile-First Crops

We compose for small screens so key claims stay readable.

How important are great listing images?

Extremely. Online shoppers can't see or touch your product in person. Images are their primary way to assess quality, features, and trustworthiness.

Well-crafted listing images influence:

  • Click-through rate (CTR): A standout main image draws people into your listing.

  • Conversion rate (CVR): Clear, context-rich visuals reduce hesitation and encourage purchases.

  • Returns & negative reviews: When images match what the customer receives, fewer surprises = fewer returns.

  • Listing visibility over time: Better conversion helps Amazon’s algorithm reward your listing in search ranking.

What size/resolutions do you create images in?

For this listing images we create them to be at least 1600 x 1600 pixels, which is Amazon's requirement for them to be zoomable. Square images will appear larger on Amazon in most cases, although you can use images of other dimensions when needed.

Note that images in A+ content or other parts of Amazon would have differing dimensions.

Do you shoot photos or design from what we provide?

We can do what makes sense for your situation. Most brands already have some imagery and photography by the time we start working with them. We can usually utilize those images to create what's needed for the product listings.

We can take plain product photos in our office. For situations where it makes sense, we may refer you to a photographer to do a photoshoot with real people and models. Many times lifestyle photos are not necessary and with photoshop tools the needed images can be made digitally. For example, infographics many times just need to show parts of the product and don't necessarily require a photoshoot with people using the product.

How many images should I use?

You can have a total of 10 images but most customers just see the first 7. We recommend having 7 total (1 primary image and then 6 secondary images). If you have a video, that will take up one of the slots so you'd have 1 primary image and 5 secondary images.

If you're brand registered, you'll also want to have a "brand story" or "shoppable collections" & A+ content/A+ Premium Content on each listing as well.

Do you follow Amazon's image rules?

Yes. There's a lot of rules related to imagery. For example, the primary images require a plain white background.

Photos can't have medical claims or glorification of the consumption of alcohol. We're aware of the issues that can arise. We can design the images to avoid problems and also decide what to do if images are flagged (many times they may be flagged by Amazon by mistake).

We also know workarounds that increase sales. For example, though we can't have text in a primary image, many times we can depict product packaging next to the product that has important text that we want to show even before a customer clicks into the listing.

What if I have a smaller budget?

Great product images are typically a key part of each listing. If budgets are limited we'll discuss options. Often foregoing A+ content or a brand storefront makes sense. The product images are usually essential. For some types of products, less details are necessary (such as for spare parts etc.).

Does Amazon's AI read and look at listings?

Absolutely! Their AI can read all the listings images and even tell what's in there. For example, if you images that show a lot of women, it can infer that the product is often for women.

It's important to create great images not only for humans for the AI tools to understand your products as well.

What are ways to optimize image photos?

The most important thing is having complete and thorough information. Customers typically will look at each product image but review none of the actual text on the listing.

Square images appear larger on Amazon than rectangular images.

Primary images should be cropped in a way that makes the product appear take up as much of the frame as possible. This causes them to appear larger on the search results page which we've seen generates more clicks.

Images need to have a consistent branding scheme so they appear professional.

We also review listings after we've made edits to make sure the important factors that Amazon's AI checks for are covered in your listing. This helps it appear higher in search results and be recommended by AI Assistants (such as Amazon's Rufus).
